Deadfilmstar is a four member gothic rock band consisting of Mr. Filmstar (vocals), Esther ‘Jane’ (keyboards), John (guitar & bass) and Pinky (drums).

When I first put this CD into my stereo I thought that I had accidentally put a Marilyn Manson CD in instead. Everything here including the vocals, lyrics and song structures sound exactly like Marilyn Manson.

The music is guitar, bass and drum heavy with vocals that speak out the lyrics with a creepy snarl as well as scream in a rage. The songs switch from slow and moody bass guitar moments to all out fast and furious electric guitar thrashing. These musicians do indeed have talent and make good solid dark heavy rock music with a lot of emotion. Unfortunately, they’re simply copying a sound as opposed to creating one of their own.

The bottom line is that if you like Marilyn Manson, you will like Deadfilmstar as well.
