The Secular deliver old school 80's style goth punk music on this EP. The CD sounds like a live recording due to its somewhat muffled sound quality. The songs here are your standard guitar heavy hard rocking tracks with deep female singing. The guitars, bass and drums are loud and noisy with slight electronic effects and keyboard melodies buried beneath it all. The instruments sound as if they're all going off in their own directions, while the singer shouts her words over everything. This gives the music a raw punk edge. There's nothing really new or different to be heard here, but it's decent for th most part. This band is definitely more of a live band than a studio band. If you like an 80's goth punk sound, The Secular deliver exactly what you're looking for.
