What
the hell happened to our momentum?! I'll tell you what happened:
I (Rabies) have been swamped with work. To the point of exhaustion,
the brink of a nervous breakdown and all that good stuff (well,
ok only the insanity and seeing things move in the corner of my
eye are good...) It's all for a good cause though; my financial
independence.
Stay
tuned... I'm expecting to have time to breathe this weekend. Meanwhile,
don't forget to check out Real
Synthetic Audio. The last few shows have really kicked
ass! This week, among lots of great songs is the new Leaether
Strip single which I already just love. -Rabies

Rabies
says: I find the net pretty damn boring these days. Can't say
I "surf" anymore... but some emerging cool shit is full
quality Flash cartoons. There's the pioneers, Spumco,
and my new personal favorite: Space
is Dum!
DARKLIGHT'S
REVIEW STYLE
My
review style is a bit different from others. A lot of music
reviewers tend to go on and on about band members and their
history. They also sometimes use a lot of big fancy words to
make their reviews sound more informative than they actually
are. I myself have always liked to get to the bottom line of
a review. I just want to know the basics so I can determine
if the CD being reviewed is something that I will like or not.
I decided to go this route with my reviews. My approach is to
make fairly short and straight to the point reviews that basically
describe what the music on the CD sounds like.
I don't write a review for a
CD until I have listened to it several times. I do this because
there have been CDs that have grown on me after many listens,
just as there have been CDs that have sounded worse after many
listens. I pay close attention to the CDs that I listen to,
and analyze them through and through. My final opinion of a
CD is the review that I write for it.
Sometimes I write reviews that
are short and to the point, while others are long describing
each song. The short reviews are usually for CDs that sound
somewhat the same from start to finish. The longer reviews are
for CDs that have a lot of variety from track to track. These
CDs can't be described as easily, and need more detail given
to offer the reader a better understanding of their sound.
I decided to use a simple letter
rating system for my reviews. The ratings are based upon how
good a CD is in its particular genre. While my review alone
should be enough to give the impression if I liked or disliked
a CD; the ratings help to make it clear just how much I did
like or dislike it.

ELECTRONIC
DECONSTRUCTION IS BACK!!
After
lying dormant for almost 2 years, one of the net's first radio
shows of its genre, has officially relaunched as of right now.
It currently boasts 9.5 hours of no-repeat music with a
goal of 40 hours with more MP3's being added every day.
Says
Rance, the site's DJ and webmaster, "I'm still looking for
new/unsigned bands. My main goal in the site was to get new people
heard, that goal still exists today. I'm still fiddling with the
bitrate, it's between 40 and 56k at the moment. Other than that...
glad to be back!" So are we Rance.

And
one of the best things about ED, next to the music, is the dynamically
updated playlist. Wanna know who sang/performed what? Band/song
names are constantly updated on the Playlists page. What are you
waiting for, check
it out now!

we'll do it. Vote in the poll to the right. ------>
